Last month, the gaming world gathered at the Koelnmesse in Cologne to attend the world’s largest gaming event – Gamescom 2025. For us here at Gatherers’ Tavern, this was also our first trade show sharing a booth with the team at Cardmarket.

To celebrate our collaboration, Gatherers’ Tavern designed exclusive playmats and card sleeves featuring our two mascots. These goods depict our beloved cat Cinnamon flying in on a broomstick to help Pablo the dragon with deliveries. These exclusive goods were only obtainable through Cardmarket’s Spin the Wheel campaign, where free spins could be earned by creating a Cardmarket account.

The campaign was a huge success, with such long lines of people queueing up for a spin, that we had to enforce some crowd control measures and limit the timeslots for spinning. We’re glad to see that these collaboration goods were a big hit amongst players young and old.

These collaboration playmats were also used at our gaming tables, where attendees could come up and challenge our visiting influencers and Cardmarket team members at our booth in a variety of TCGs. From Magic: the Gathering with Carl, Thoralf and Jamin, Pokémon TCG with The Zero of Time, Yu-Gi-Oh! with Lampi_YGO, to Lorcana with Specimen Curley, there was something for everyone.

It was wonderful to see so many people coming by for a chance to play some card games with their favourite TCG influencers. Events like Gamescom are great opportunities for fans and creators to meet, and we were honored to host a space for these games.

Our first time at Gamescom showed us just how massive the gaming industry within Europe is. To better serve the European TCG community and the fanbase that these influencers brought to our booth, Gatherers’ Tavern will be working on expanding our distribution channels in the EU. As a growing industry and hobby, everyone should have the chance to get beautiful and artistic accessories for the game and characters they love.

Yu-Gi-Oh! fans were also delighted to see sneak peeks of our upcoming ARTY bags and ARTY Slings of the Kuriboh brothers and Mokey Mokey. Lampi was wearing our Mokey Mokey ARTY bag around the event, and fans of the duel monster were excited to finally get more merch of the little guy. Meanwhile, the Kuriboh brothers absolutely stole the spotlight from fans and outsiders alike. They’ll be debuting very soon, so do stay tuned to our future announcements.

Thank you to Zero, Lampi, Speci and Cardmarket for collaborating with Gatherers’ Tavern at Gamescom 2025! And thank you to all those who dropped by! We hope to see you at our tavern again soon!
